I have watched all of the series of Gossip Girl and loved them but have never read the books. I was thinking of buying the books for holiday though, but was wondering if they were any good. I’d be grateful for your views on the books if you’ve read them please, thank you.

The school looked omniscient when the bus pulled into the front entrance. Thousands of students walked up the cobble-stoned pathway, chattering as if nothing had happened. Sighing, she climbed out of her seat and hopped off of the bus. Joey said something to her, but she didn’t hear him. She was too busy paying attention to the students who were now focusing their attention on her. They knew how close she and Palma were. So it was likely they added her in their gossip. As if that gave them an excuse. Ever since Savannah had started dating her ex-boyfriend Carter, she had been the center of gossip. She was beginning to feel like those poor girls in Gossip Girl.

“Savannah!” a voice yelled. “Savannah!”

Coming towards her were the Darling twins. Tall, tanned, and blond. Two of the prettiest girls in the freshman class who for some reason didn’t seem to make the cut for popularity.

Savannah looked at them as they finally caught up with her. Clarissa, the prettier twin, doubled over trying to catch her breath. “Savannah, I’m sorry what’s happened. I know I’ve told you this trillions of times, but I’m sorry!”

She leaned over to give Savannah a tight squeeze. Clarissa’s generous breasts pressing against Savannah almost made her feel better. In a way where a child might like it when a mother would hold them close to her bosoms.

Alyssa ran her fingers through Savannah’s hair, stroking it affectionately. Clarissa and Alyssa had been extremely guilty over the death of Palma. Even though they were never rude to her, they always commented on how her breasts were bigger than there’s. Savannah had a feeling that they felt like they caused her death. Which Savannah had reminded them time and time that they didn’t.

The twins flanked around Savannah like skinny bodyguards. Savannah could feel the piercing stares on her as they made their way to door 14. Inside the building was much worse. Dozens of students were still mourning over the shrine of Palma in the freshman center. She frowned when she saw Skylar Brennan and Phoebe Pier crying at the picture of Palma riding a horse. They didn’t even like her. They constantly called Palma “Slutty, blond Dutch girl” at every chance they got. Now they were sad over her death because they thought it gave them social cred. Savannah wanted to punch every single person in their crocodile-teared-stained faces.

From the corner of her eye she could see Carter Atkins standing over by the far corner with Maris Fields. His eyes shifted towards her. Savannah felt a flutter in her stomach. They had broken up on the night before Christmas Eve. Carter had called the relationship off, causing her to cry. He had told her he loved her, but he just didn’t feel like the relationship was right. She still missed him.

That was another thing. Carter and Savannah’s breakup had been the hit news in the school. It even overpowered Palma’s death. Girls would stare and whisper as she walked past them. Boys would stare at her as if thinking they could get a shot. Savannah felt like being popular wasn’t all that great. It often came with a negative backlash. Like when Skylar had told her she didn’t like her because she thought she was too full of herself. That was the day Palma had comforted her. New tears sprang from her dark eyes. Her head immediately called for Andy. He was the only person she could talk to about anything.

She wandered around the halls looking for Andy Simms. He was nowhere in sight. Sighing, she saw the nearest person she could talk to. Her best friend Judy Detillo. She was one girl who understood how she was feeling. Palma and Judy had talked from time to time. They were almost friends.

Just when she was about to approach Judy, Holly Drake called out her name. Before she could turn around, Holly was already standing within kissing distance of her. Savannah backed up a little bit. She was glad to have Holly there with her. She was the most sensible, motherly person in the group. Even though she could be bossy at times, most of time she made sense in what she was saying.

“Let’s go for a walk.” Holly said in a sweet voice, taking Savannah by the hand.

“Can Judy come along?” Savannah asked.

“Sure,” Holly shrugged, searching for Judy.

“Judy!” shouted Savannah. “I need to talk to you!”

Judy met her gaze and smiled. It was a sad smile that meant “You can talk to me about anything.”

She traipsed her way over to the girls, slinking her backpack over her shoulders. Her hair was pulled back into two french braids that met at the middle of her head.
